"Bukonzo Dream represents not just a coffee, but a journey of community, quality, and shared aspirations.
Harvested by smallholder farmers of the Bukonzo Cooperative, nestled along the steep hillsides of Kasese, the ripe cherries were handpicked and density-sorted before undergoing natural drying on raised beds. This slow, controlled process concentrates fruit sweetness and builds layers of depth and complexity.
The result is a fruit-forward cup with notes of ripe berries and stone fruit, a creamy texture, and a round body with a hint of funk on the finish."

Relationship driven coffee
Agri Evolve is a profit-for-purpose agribusiness in Uganda’s Rwenzori Mountains, dedicated to producing, processing, and exporting exceptional coffee. The company partners with around 2,000 smallholder farmers in the Kasese District, focusing on fair pricing, quality improvement, and sustainable practices. Through investment in modern facilities and hands-on farmer support, Agri Evolve has helped transform coffee production in Kasese while strengthening local livelihoods.
As a roaster, we’re proud to work with a partner so deeply committed to both quality and sustainability. From Kasese, Agri Evolve drives positive change across the Rwenzoris through initiatives like distributing energy-efficient stoves, planting native trees, and providing resilient coffee seedlings. Their 2023 B Corp certification reflects a genuine dedication to ethical trade, environmental care, and the people who make Rwenzori coffee so special.
Process & Varietal
SL14 and SL28 are renowned Arabica varieties known for their exceptional cup quality and resilience. Originally developed in Kenya, they thrive in the high altitudes and rich volcanic soils of the Rwenzori Mountains, producing coffees with vibrant acidity, complex sweetness, and distinct fruit notes. Agri Evolve distributes these varieties to local farmers to replace older, less productive trees—helping improve yields, disease resistance, and overall cup consistency.
For their natural coffees, Agri Evolve carefully selects ripe cherries at peak ripeness before drying them slowly on raised beds under controlled conditions in Kasese. The cherries are regularly turned to ensure even drying, allowing the fruit’s sugars to infuse the bean and develop deep, jammy sweetness with a rich, full-bodied profile. This meticulous process highlights the best of Rwenzori’s terroir—bold, fruity, and beautifully balanced.
We roast this coffee light on our Loring, using plenty of energy early in the roast to bring out its full complexity and layered sweetness. The roast profile really allows both the SL varietals and the natural processing to shine through, showcasing their vibrant fruit character and rich, jammy depth.
In the cup, it’s bright and expressive as a filter brew, with juicy fruit notes and a clean, refined sweetness. As an espresso, it’s equally exciting—lively and sweet on its own, yet beautifully balanced and creamy when paired with milk.
